The Architecture Tourists had a big weekend ending with the Opening of the Living Walls Conference at Eyedrum last night. Dali is certainly big in Atlanta right now but many more people will notice Living Walls. Read more about it in Creative Loafing.
The opening was crowded, overwhelming, hot and wonderful. All the cool kids were there. I'll just show you a little now. Two warehouses filled with huge, stunning art.
Some were fun and Terry sized.
Most were a bit bigger.
Some had really big hands.
There was a huge crowd. Eyedum has never been so hospitable.
We ran into Heather McPherson, and her dad, Sam.
Quite a few Grady Bunchers were there (Grady High School). Ryun is back from DC, Jeremy from Africa, Max and KK: not back from anywhere.
I want to show you more, maybe another day. You'll be seeing more on some very big legal Atlanta walls.
Well... inspiration can come in some unusual and unsuspected places...
ReplyDeleteI doubt that I would be doing an interior with graffiti walls anytime soon... but you never know...
Thanks Terry for the interesting tour...
I would love to have a loft with a really amazing wall piece. This was fun.
ReplyDeleteWell, I hate I missed this. :(
ReplyDeleteHard to believe it's Atlanta.
ReplyDeleteBUT.
I did notice the sweat on your shirt and the 'glow' on everyone's face !!
Garden & Be Well, XO Tara
Wow! I'm sorry I missed that show...thanks for sharing...
ReplyDeleteIt was a hot Atlanta night, and the indoor spaces were packed with warm folks. This art ins't going anywhere. I'll let y'all know about the next event. It's 2 blocks from Oakland Cemetery next to the Mattress Factory lofts.
