Moore Chapel (1906) a Decatur Gem

Moore Chapel is a little gem that serves the United Methodist Children's Home.

I've been driving by for decades hoping to see inside.

One day the door was wide open and I had a look inside. Glad I did. What a space, what stained glass.

I was saying "Hello, Terry here, hello" all the while. Nobody home though so I took a few pictures and a video (below).

    1. Indeed and I'm not showing it well. Not a public place. It's just immaculate.

  3. Asa G. Candler's family started the a soda pop company that still exists to this day Don Draper helped them out a bit I suppose but that song still sticks in my head I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony ..... Not a public space so you were "visiting" and now sharing a private space with the entire world lucky for us you didn't get into trouble

  6. Thank you for posting!! More will be revealed about the development. I have heard the City of Decatur has purchased this property. An incredible piece of land surrounding this church. The Granite structures on the grounds are pretty amazing, I do hope they might renovate these beautiful buildings!
