Goodbye Ghost Sign and Bands at the Barbecue

This is a good thing, the comeback corner called "2nd and Hosea" in East Lake thanks to the long term vision of the The East Lake Foundation.

I've been driving by this forlorn corner for years but never took a picture until the construction fences went up. This corner is going to be a Greater Good Barbecue. Bless them.

I admired the exuberance of this place, property records say it was built in 1949. Who knows exactly what it looked like then?

I can smell the BBQ.

They buffed it.

Not what I thought they'd do.

But I can see why.

Let's eat.

  1. I’m glad to see something happening to that spot. I’ve been driving by for years also and it’s always been a little sad. I’ll be nice for the neighborhood to have another place to walk to for meals also.

  2. It's been a weird transformation. Looks like they were going to keep some of the mural but nope – painted over.
That Victorianesque house just west of there is fascinating. There was a crew of folks restoring VWs but then vanished....
