"The Future Is Behind Us - Opening Reception" by WonderRoot at the L.P. Grant Mansion hosted by Atlanta Preservation Center for Phoenix Flies 2012. This post is just a tease.
I love the L.P. Grant Mansion. Even the back porch has patina. People want to be there.
The front porch last night at dusk. The high ceiling makes me feel important, not small.
This place make people smile. This is the first art/photography show in the Grant Mansion drawing room.
You should peek in.

There was some controversy in the 1850s when the house was being built over the placement of the fireplaces in the corners of the rooms. Grant's relative supervising the construction didn't like them there. Evidently, architect Calvin Fay's original plan won the day, however.
ReplyDeleteThey sure look fine in the corners. The rooms end up being about the windows rather than the fireplaces.
