Back when, I don't remember, Robert Hedrick and I went to see Peter Paul and Mary at the Greensboro Coliseum. Was I 12, 13, 14?
I haven't seen Robert in like forever. I'm sure today his friends call him Bob. But I'm a way older friend and I'll always remember PP&M's performance that night and who invited me.

Just heard about this on NPR. I know some people thought they were corny, but I loved Peter, Paul & Mary. They made really good lyrics sound even better with their pretty harmonies.
ReplyDeleteI have a certain fondness for PPandM- reminds me of my Mom, who loved them in college. (this is not intended to make me sound younger- that's just how I think of them!)
ReplyDeleteMy Mom was always a big fan. I remember her playing their songs on her guitar as a child. It was sad news to hear that Mary has passed.
ReplyDeletePP&M are my all time favorite musicians. Listening to them on CD in the car it it easy to forget how much passion they had for their music. Thanks for the reminder.
