I'm participating in Metamorphosis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch. Thanks to Susan!
This fence section was on the street. I thought it might work to shield a view of our AC compressors. It's one of those views only we see but it bothers me. Anyway I brought it home.
Painted it red to match our faux tiles. Remember Faux Painting the Patio? Same color.
I put it out in my studio and grabbed a trusty Big-K Diet Cola.
I took a clever picture; but I think it makes me look fat.
I grabbed the yellow paint and channeled Mr. Pollock.
Man that was fun and I didn't even see the movie, much less read the book:
I have to wait until the paint dries to see if it works.
Here are the colors: Benjamin Moore Floor and Patio Paint, oil based.
2020-30 "Sparkling Sun" | Yellow. |
2007-20 "Sly Cherry" | Red. |
Here are colors in outdoor service. The fence will be nearby absorbing Atlanta's leaf debris patina.
Terry
Thanks to Metamorphosis Monday at Between Naps on the Porch.
Very cool! I can see how the fence will compliment your tiles nicely!
ReplyDeleteI think you've done a great job in your painting your little pickets! Can't wait to see it in it's perfect little place.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,

"channeled Mr. Pollock"...channeled Jackson Pollock! LOLLOLLLOLLOL! So funny!
ReplyDeleteI always pick up the wooden fence that people throw out, I can always use it for something. Sometimes when I see a fence that is aged I will keep an eye on the house and on trash day, I am THERE!
The first time I visited your blog was when you painted the patio. I still love it!
Michelle, I don't have much room to store wooden fences and my spousal unit doesn't always like my roadside finds. But it was her idea to use the red and yellow and she took the picture of me slinging paint.
ReplyDeleteDid I mention how much fun I had? Yes?
Like that coordinating diamond print on the patio!
ReplyDeleteLooks great. Love the patio brick as well!
ReplyDeleteI love it...and I love your patio, too
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever solution! Love the diamond print on your patio, too.
ReplyDeleteI see Julia @ Hooked on Houses wrote clever, because I thought, "Clever is as clever does." (great minds you know - we can't help it) Way to go, Terry!
ReplyDeleteLove those tiles! And the fence will look just right at home.

Sweet pickles and chocolate
Love the free fence and what you did to it!
ReplyDeleteThat was so much fun to read....why is it our shadows make us look so much bigger??? Anyway, love the fence, can't wait to see it in place.
ReplyDeletepeace!
Looking forward to see how it looks nesrby. Love those tiles and the colors are just so rich and warm. Great job!
ReplyDeleteFun! Will be good to see how it turns out. Funny that we both posted about red today. And I'm totally with you on the UGA/aberration of a great color. You'll be happy to know we cheer for the yellowjackets... except when they're playing the Wahoos.
ReplyDeleteWell it is probably a good thing you didn't channel Picaso. I have a small piece of picket fence that has big black hooks on it. Makes a nice wall hanger.
ReplyDeleteVery, very cool Terry.

Seeing a faucet hidden in a Cotswolds garden taught me, There is nothing Too Small to overlook in the landscape.
ReplyDeleteLoved seeing your 8 yr old self!!

Very well done! I love projects like that - finding something and making it usable again.
ReplyDeleteTerry...love this! That looks like sooo much fun! I know I would as much on me as the fence pickets. :-)
