Julia over at Hooked on Houses is hosting her "Hooked on Friday's" blog party. I don't get invited to many parties so here we are for the first time.
I get tired of the dramatically staged, perfectly lit, everything in it's place, and often sterile decor pictures, don't you? We're doing it for our families aren't we? You'll have to scroll way down for tasteful lady arm wrestling.
This is a nice dinning area; but it's really made for...
sorting out the peaches we picked...
serving pot-luck desserts, chips, buns...
ummmm pies...
or with having best buds over for dinner.
You have to scroll even further for tasteful lady arm wrestling.
Here is the grill station but it's boring until until...
things are really cookin' for our guests...
and we've eaten until we're bloated and a little sleepy-eyed.
A pretty sofa is just a sofa...
unless we're training granny to instant message...
or doing our spill-over dining with our new grand-nephew...
or watching tasteful lady arm wrestling...
like this:
If you know a little about Flickr, you can click these pictures to see some slide shows. But tasteful lady arm wrestling is a hard act to follow and I know you're busy.
Your architecture tourist hopes you've enjoyed a bit of our place. We'll return tomorrow for some downtown Atlanta views you've never seen or maybe some mission revival parapets with scrolls. (Who knew there was such a thing?)
Thanks,
Terry
P.S. Jamie beat Rachel both right armed and left armed.

Homes always look "best with guests" we like to say!
ReplyDeleteI loved this post! You're so right that homes are about family and friends--and sorting peaches! :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you joined my blog party today, and you're welcome back any time.
P.S. I think this is the first time anyone posted a photo of "tasteful lady arm wrestling." You get extra points for originality--and for making me laugh!
I really enjoyed your post! What great friends and family. Thanks for sharing your warm and welcoming home with us!

fabulous post! and you're so right.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right! Homes can be stunningly beautiful and picture perfect, but it is the people in them that brings the heart to our homes. Thank you for sharing these wonderful photographs! ~Arleen
ReplyDeleteI love the pictures and the peek inside your "photo album". You throw a great party! (you better make sure grandma doesn't go over her text maximum}

ReplyDeleteLoved the picture of the peaches! I grew up in "peach country"- aren't they beautiful??
The peaches came from Gardner Farms - blackberries, blueberries, peaches, and prepicked produce, restrooms

A pleasant drive south from Atlanta.
They have different peach varieties all summer long but you should call before you go.
This is the funnest post ever! (That's right, I said funnest.)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog!
I hope to see you in the Hooked on party again.
Loved this post! What a great space you have -- just right and very much LIVED in!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful family and home - and you are right - homes are best filled with people. In those decor pictures, I am happy if they show a cat or a dog, which add a little life and love to the place!
ReplyDeleteLove the photos and the theme behind it - a house and its decor brought to life by people!
ReplyDeleteY'all are so kind. Of course I think my wife and children can make anyplace look nice.
