I wonder what more he would have designed had he not moved to Nashville.Wright Marshallnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3595423154503946022.post-74618206995657752832011-03-21T12:56:23.533-04:002011-03-21T12:56:23.533-04:00Thanks for the photos of the tile floors. What it is, is hydraulically pressed cement tile. I have a nice video that shows how it is made. http://www.villalagoontile.com/how-are-encaustic-cement-tiles-made.html<br />Best wishes, LundyVilla Lagoon Tilehttp://www.villalagoontile.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3595423154503946022.post-164056918596031832011-03-16T07:13:59.204-04:002011-03-16T07:13:59.204-04:00Holy Church Tour! Pastor Brad said folks were "in you face" sometimes to the good and sometimes not. The thing for me is that I've driven by here for decades and never thought of it as anything but a church. I think that was the aim. The other church mansions still look like mansions even though they've changed their mission.Terryhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14154846109609330503noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3595423154503946022.post-7945125304796348512011-03-12T22:56:49.240-05:002011-03-12T22:56:49.240-05:00An interesting example of adaptive use, I am glad ...An interesting example of adaptive use, I am glad to see the house so well preserved and respected in regard to the decorative finishes; they are too often covered over for institutional/religious use. Although I would have preferred that the new sanctuary had not tried so hard to outshine the original house, it does at least show some degree of sympathetic acknowledgement. Overall, though, I say it is a success. Thanks for the interesting presentation, Terry! The Devoted Classicisthttp://tdclassicist.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.com
